Wild Lettuce Tincture
This Wild Lettuce (Lactuca virosa) was foraged from amongst a field of wild flowers growing inside of our garden within the never ending forests that surround our farm, far far away from any human interference.
They are immediately tinctured for a minimum of six weeks in certified organic cane alcohol provided by the Organic Alcohol Co. out of Ashland Oregon, in glass, BPA free jars
On Sustainability: The Boreal Shop is committed to sustainable, low impact practices• Everything grown is done so in a regenerative organic fashion
• Everything foraged is done in consideration to the ecosystem it resides in. Never overharvesting, using the 20% rule
• The shop is solar powered
• The packing material is repurposed cardboard, which may then be recycled
• The tincture bottles can be reused by you indefinitely
• The shipping envelopes are indeed plastic. I’m presently working to move away from that - designing forms and experimenting with growing mycelium packaging
• I collect and remove at least 100x the weight in plastic the shop generates from forests and bodies of water in the Hudson Valley
• Proceeds from the shop go towards creating a more self sustaining farm and growing nourishing food for the local communities
• All suggestions welcome
